Preparation:

This is what the package contains: 450 g baking mix for the dough 7 g yeast 30 g vanilla-flavored sauce powder You will also need: baking dish (about 20 x 30 cm), a little fat Just add: for the dough: 175 ml milk 100 g butter 1 egg (size M) for brushing: 25 g butter for the sauce: 20 g (1 heaped tbsp) sugar 500 ml milk Tip: As desired for a filling: - 200 g fruit, e.g. apples - or 150 g puree, e.g. plum jam

1 Preparation and prepare the dough Grease the baking dish. Heat the milk in a saucepan and melt the butter in it. Put the baking mix for the dough in a mixing bowl. Add the yeast and mix carefully. Add the warm milk-butter mixture and the egg. Process everything with a mixer (dough hook) briefly on the lowest setting, then on the highest setting for about 5 minutes until you have a smooth dough. Cover the dough and leave to rise in a warm place for around 30 minutes, until it has visibly increased in size. Form and bake Buchteln

2  Melt the butter for brushing. Briefly knead the dough on a lightly floured work surface and form into a 24 cm long roll. Cut the roll into 12 equal-sized pieces. Shape the pieces of dough into balls. Put the Buchteln in the tin and brush with butter. Leave to rise in a warm place for another 15 minutes. In the meantime, preheat the oven. Top/bottom heat: around 180°C Hot air: around 160°C Place the tin on the rack in the oven. Position: middle Baking time: 25-30 mins.

3 Prepare the sauce Mix the sauce powder with the sugar in a small bowl. Gradually stir in at least 6 tablespoons of the milk. Bring the remaining milk to the boil, remove the pan from the heat and stir in the mixed powder with a whisk. Bring the sauce to the boil again while stirring vigorously and serve with the Buchteln while they are still warm. TIP: For any filling, put a piece of fruit or puree in the middle of each piece of dough and press the edges together well.

Packaging: suitable for recycling
